With the start and end of every occasion, I like to cleanse myself, my wardrobe and most importantly my home. If you ask anyone that knows me personally, they will tell you what a germaphobe I am (and not in a good way). I think my OCD annoys a lot of my friends and family, which is yet another reason why I love them so much for still sticking around with me through all these years. Sigh!
January is one of the most symbolic months for “fresh starts” or rather “clean starts” literally speaking. The past few years, I have become more health conscious than ever. Gradually as I learn more, I adapt into a healthier lifestyle for my family and I.
Unlike some, whenever I learn something new I do not rave about it or try to convince others to do it without having enough experience or allowing enough time to pass from the new method. I like to try new techniques and products all the time until I find what really works. And THEN I like to share it with you all. So this post is dedicated to a healthy environment in the home, more specifically using non-toxic home cleaning supplies.
In our modern homes, we invite toxins through different avenues. In the US, 1 in 3 people suffer from allergies, asthma, sinusitis or bronchitis (US National Center for Health Statistics). The products we use in our homes play a significant role in that statistic, especially synthetic chemicals. Unfortunately these can cause long-term health effects as well. So if you are like me and like to do your part, then I HIGHLY recommend you take out all the products you use at home and read the labels. I guarantee you are using far too many harmful chemicals in the environment you and your children call home. Ditch the toxic brands!! Find non-toxic alternatives and support the growth of a green business. Increasingly the market offers you with many options as opposed to a few years back. Here are some of the products I use and trust:
